Winter 2019 Small Group Curriculum
Hey, Small Group Leaders! Here are the 5 choices we have for you for the Feb-March round of Small Groups. Once you’ve had a look around, feel free to contact your group and then make your final decision. Please let Kevin MacMillan know by Tuesday, January 15 so we have time to order materials.
We will provide discussion questions for each curriculum.
Boundaries Video Series
Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend help you learn when to say yes and know how to say no in order to take control of your life and set healthy, biblical boundaries with your spouse, children, friends, parents, co-workers, and even yourself. This material has helped millions of people around the world answer these and other tough questions:
Can I set limits and still be a loving person?
What are legitimate boundaries?
How do I effectively manage my digital life so that it doesn't control me?
Prodigal God Book and Video Series - Timothy Keller
In The Prodigal God, Keller uses the parable of the prodigal son to reveal an unexpected message of hope and salvation. Within that parable Jesus reveals God's abundant and extravagant (prodigal) grace toward both the irreligious and the moralistic. This book will challenge both the devout and skeptics to see Christianity in a whole new way.
This is a book study with some video content. The first session includes a 37-minute video that may be best for your group to watch on their own beforehand. The other videos are only 2 or 3 minutes. Click here to see the videos.
Your group members will need to purchase the book (about $18, or $14 Kindle).
What On Earth Am I Here For? Video Series - Rick Warren
In this 6-session small group bible study, What On Earth Am I Here For?, Rick Warren helps you discover the answer to life’s most fundamental question: “What on earth am I here for?”
Warren starts his answer with, “It’s not about you…You were created by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. It is only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny.”
This is the official study companion for The Purpose Driven Life and is designed for use with the DVD. Reading the book is optional, but very helpful. Click here to see the videos.
Value-Packed Parenting Video Series (Kevin Leman)
Value-Packed Parenting from well-known Christian psychologist Dr. Kevin Leman is a small group study for parents on raising kids in a pleasure-driven world. Each of the seven sessions is taught by Dr. Leman and lasts approximately 30 minutes. We recommend this only for groups where all the member are parents or want the hear the material.

Book of the Bible - Philippians
For those groups who want to go through a book of the Bible, this study will work through the book of Philippians. Being the warmest and most personal of all Paul’s epistles, the main theme of this letter is joy and triumph. This study will start with some background information about the city and how Paul founded the church there, and then go through each of the 4 chapters, learning about Paul’s personal relationship with God, true contentment, humility, and the source of our rejoicing.
