Day 14 – Righteousness, Acceptance, Victory and Provision

We have Righteousness in Christ.

2Cor 5:21For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Righteousness is right-standing with God. Because God is holy, only holy things can be in His presence. There are accounts in the Old Testament of people coming into his presence uninvited, when they were not sanctified (made holy by God). The result was death.

Our righteousness is like a filthy rag (Isaiah 64:6). In other words, if we try to be good enough for God, it is useless. We can only stand before Him in His righteousness.

We are accepted in Christ.

Eph 1:6…His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved (Christ).

Because of His righteousness, we are accepted in His presence.

When people say that God accepts everyone, they are only partly right. God will accept anyone who comes to Him in faith based on the work of Jesus on the cross. But if they try to come on their own terms, He will not. Love and acceptance are not the same thing. God loved us enough to make it possible for us to be accepted.

We have victory over the works of darkness in Christ.

Col 2:15 ESV He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

By His work on the cross, Jesus disarmed the works of darkness – He rendered them impotent. They no longer have a hold on us in the realm of the spirit.

 We have provision in Christ.

Phil 4:19 NLT And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

God is the owner of the earth and all that is in it (Ps 24:1). We saw earlier that the fullness of God dwells in Christ, including everything that is His.

When we are in Christ, we have access to these “glorious riches.”
