Day 17 – Strong, Established, Serving and Seated
We have strength in Christ.
Eph 6:10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
This is God’s supernatural strength, a manifestation of His grace which is more than sufficient for us. It goes beyond what we could be capable of on our own. His power is unending, and He gives us access to it (Eph 3:20).
Oftentimes, we are in the best position when we have no strength in ourselves, because that’s when we have no choice but to operate in His.
We are established, rooted and built up in Christ.
2Cor 1:21Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God
Col 2:7rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Not only do we have a good foundation to stand on (Jesus Himself – 1Cor 3:11), but we ourselves are strengthened to stand on it with His strength. Jesus is not only a solid foundation but a living one. Col 2:7 includes the idea of a living connection – roots – that continues to draw life from that living foundation.
We can serve in Christ.
1Cor 15:58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Col 4:7Tychicus, a beloved brother, faithful minister, and fellow servant in the Lord, will tell you all the news about me.
While our service will most certainly involve the body and soul, we must always remember that we are to serve and labour in the Lord. This service can take many forms, both in and outside the church building. He is the One who provides the strength as well as the reward.
We are seated in heavenly places in Christ.
Eph 2:6… raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
According to Eph 1:21, Jesus is “far above all principality and power and might and dominion…
Since we are seated with Him, we also are above all these things. From this viewpoint, we can see the world the way it really is. We can also see that no evil is permanent, and that we can live above it.
